. . . promoting literacy one book at a time Ramapo Readers is an initiative sponsored by Professor Kim Lorber and the Social Work Club of Ramapo College of New Jersey. Our goal is to collect books for school and student libraries in New Jersey. Currently, we are providing books to nine schools in Paterson, New Jersey as well as social service agencies. In light of school budget cuts, there is little to no money for books for students. Ramapo Readers provides books for school, classroom, and students’ personal home libraries. Imagine reading a book and then getting to keep it! Don’t take for granted the luxury and wonder of a book. A book can take you anywhere. It is the beginning of a world and lifelong journey. Change lives. Recycle resources. Have books you can’t part with but would if you could find just the right recipients? You’ve come to the right place. DONATE AND/OR JOIN Donate new or gently used books (not textbooks). We will find homes. Volunteer if you are part of the Ramapo community. Even a half hour a week will contribute so much! Accept donations, level (sort) books, prepare for deliveries, and deliver books.
